Just got back from a week away, landed at Abu Dhabi airport, went to my XJ in the long term parking and nothing. Not a single light, not a click, completely dead as a doornail. After a long flight the last thing you need is to be stranded in a hot parking lot with a luxury car that won't start. I was panicking because I had no idea who to call that would actually understand a Jaguar and not just throw in any random battery. Started searching on my phone and found an Emergency Jaguar battery shop in Abu Dhabi that does mobile service. Called them up and the guy was actually really helpful on the phone, asked about the model and year and said he had the right battery in stock. He arrived within about an hour which considering the airport distance was pretty impressive. Fitted a proper Varta battery, used a memory saver so I didn't lose all my settings, and even cleared the low voltage warning that had appeared. Car started perfectly and I finally made it home. If anyone else gets stuck at the airport with a Jag, these guys are worth knowing about.
